The street barber comes under the unorganized sector. Although they look makeshift in reality they are sort of permanent in their location. The problem comes in the ergonomic setting in their workplace and in the portability aspect of their equipment.

To make his business sustainable in long run we can design a foldable lightweight barbers chair which he can take with him every time he goes home along with his kit box. All of these things can be mounted on his cycle through which he can also perform ritualistic jobs.

The height of the chair should be such that it must fit into the barber’s precision zone and light zone (close to the substratum of the barber) while having all the adjustments for the customer. Using Indian anthropometric data the chair has been designed.
